Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications, operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, and ensuring that welds meet standards and/or specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret welding process specifications and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, including arc welding machines and spot welding machines
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
  • Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal
  • Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC)
  • Determine weldability of materials
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
  • Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
  • Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations, and seams of metal
  • Start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production lines
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
Requirements
  • Technical Standards Safety Authority (TSSA) Certification
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Pressure Welding Certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
  • Forklift Operator Certification
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and physically demanding work. The candidate must be able to stand for extended periods and work in a variety of temperatures.
