We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to join our team at Napoleon Products. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for driving improvements in all related processes, including those related to products, equipment, human interface, and product quality.
Key Responsibilities- Process Improvement: Drive improvements in all related processes, including those related to products, equipment, human interface, and product quality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production and support teams as required.
- Lean and TPM: Implement and maintain world-class Lean and TPM processes and other manufacturing methodologies and systems for current production as well as new product launches.
- Product Launches: Direct and support MFG Engineering staff to ensure all product launches are successfully developed and implemented on time and budget, meeting all Napoleon's stage gate requirements.
- Business Planning: Assist operations team in the creation of annual business and strategic plans to ensure successful growth and profitability for the company.
- Plant Layout: Optimize and implement plant layouts changes for the purpose of improving material flow, space requirements, and productivity improvements.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure new equipment and systems adhere to safety requirements as well as Local, Provincial, and Federal industry regulations.
- Interface and Communication: Interface with multiple functions and departments within the company and with people at all levels of management and technical ability.
- Associate Development: Implement strategic plans for hiring, training, and developing Associates as required.
- Procedure Development: Create, implement, and maintain necessary departmental and manufacturing engineering-related procedures to ensure all ISO requirements are met.
- Engineering Changes: Ensure all tasks for engineering changes for the department are completed effectively and on time.
- R&D and Innovation: Lead Manufacturing Engineering and production-related innovations and R&D efforts, including the tracking and reporting on R&D tax credit submissions.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvements by reducing labor costs and waste reduction; improving production efficiency, health and safety, and operational improvement.
- Education: University degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum five (5) years' experience preferred, coupled with a minimum of three (3) years' leadership experience.
- Skills: Proficient with Microsoft products. Solidworks preferred. Specialized skills: Experience with CNC machinery, stamping equipment, process improvement, equipment procurement, Lean, Kaizen, Kanban, 5S tools, and concepts.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and principles.
- Competencies: Strong leadership skills; strong technical skills; strategic thinker; effective problem solver and implementer of countermeasures; strong decision maker; results-oriented, practical, and hands-on.
