The Sustainable Investment team is a cornerstone of our investment philosophy, enabling us to manage risks, identify opportunities for enhanced long-term performance, and maintain our competitive advantage. The Sustainability and Climate Innovation (SCI) group leads our initiatives in this area, driving our sustainability and climate strategies, enhancing our capabilities, and collaborating closely with investment teams across various asset classes. This collaboration helps us integrate sustainability factors into our investment processes and report effectively to our stakeholders.

We are looking for a Senior Analyst in Sustainability to actively engage in the SCI group's initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Sustainability & Climate Innovation, you will be a key player in our commitment to sustainable investment. YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Analyst in Sustainability, you will be part of the SCI group within the Office of the Chief Investment Officer. Your role will involve a variety of essential tasks aimed at promoting our sustainable investment objectives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive research and analysis on sustainability-related factors (both risks and opportunities) to support their integration into PSP Investments' investment and monitoring activities, particularly in private equity and credit sectors.
  • Leading the ongoing development and execution of PSP's sustainability assessment framework for external managers and general partners, aligned with our long-term investment strategy.
  • Engaging continuously with PSP's portfolio companies, general partners, and internal teams.
  • Contributing to the creation and maintenance of tools that ensure sustainability considerations are effectively integrated into investment and monitoring activities across asset classes.
  • Assisting in the formulation and refinement of sustainability and climate-related policies and internal procedures.
  • Building strong collaborative relationships with the Private Equity and Credit Investments teams.
  • Performing primary research, analysis, and presentations on sustainability issues and best practices for institutional investors.
  • Participating in collaborative initiatives and leadership activities with industry peers.
  • Collaborating on PSP's sustainability disclosure and reporting activities, both internally and externally.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A solid educational background, preferably with a degree in sustainability, finance, business administration, or a related field. Additional certifications in sustainability are advantageous.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in sustainable investing, investment management, or ownership, particularly in private equity and credit.
  • A demonstrated interest in sustainable investing principles and practices, including familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks and reporting standards.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Business acumen, combining qualitative and quantitative analysis to address complex business challenges.
  • Proficiency in technology and data analytics.
  • A results-oriented mindset, committed to achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Fluency in English and French is preferred (or a willingness to learn).
