Assurance and Accounting Specialist

Join our Assurance & Accounting team at MNP as a Designated Professional. This dynamic group of experts is committed to addressing clients' distinct requirements in a fast-changing business and financial reporting environment. As a reliable consultant, you will deliver comprehensive and customized financial insights that empower clients to make confident decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping, and tax assignments.
- Organize files for new clients and newly established businesses; oversee multiple files concurrently and conduct inventory assessments.
- Carry out accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset acquisition and disposal, and payroll evaluations with clients.
- Compile clients' current financial status by gathering information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other pertinent reports.
- Evaluate and ensure the adequacy of audit evidence for expenses, revenues, capital asset additions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and prepaid expenses.
- Examine, investigate, and rectify discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents, and reports.
- Develop charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting to accounts.
- Draft correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations that outline engagement findings, facts, and highlights.
- Cultivate effective working relationships with clients while mentoring and guiding junior team members.
- Engage in business development activities and identify new business prospects.
- Maintain the flexibility to travel as required.
Required Skills and Experience
- CPA designation.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Proficiency in accounting and tax software.
- Familiarity with business, accounting, management, and practice development principles.
