About the Opportunity
The selected Lead Estimator will operate from a central office, taking on a pivotal role that significantly impacts the branch's trajectory. The Lead Estimator will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all estimating activities. This role includes providing guidance and support to the estimating team, ensuring precision and leadership are maintained to enhance profitability and secure project bids. The Lead Estimator will be accountable for the overall effectiveness, mentorship, and performance of the estimating team.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A minimum of 10 years in construction estimation, preferably in commercial or industrial sectors.
- Extensive experience with complex project estimates.
- A degree or technical diploma in Engineering or Construction Technology.
- Professional designations such as Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) or Construction Estimator Certified (CEC) are advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of estimation methodologies and practices.
- Proficient understanding of construction management budgeting, design-build processes, and lump-sum tenders.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse personality types.
- Excellent client service and public interaction abilities.
- A customer-centric approach, responsive to client needs.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
