Job Summary:

The Counter Assistant provides friendly and efficient counter service and food production while maintaining a clean and sanitized work area. This role is responsible for preparing food in an efficient and friendly manner as per customer request, serving on the food line, and operating the cash register as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food in an efficient and friendly manner as per customer request while ensuring a clean and sanitized work area.
  • Serve on the food line and operate the cash register as required.
  • Stock product, sweep the area, empty garbage, and wash location dishes when required.
  • Wash, cut, and properly store food items as per directions and/or par stocks while ensuring a clean and sanitized work area.
  • Ensure proper labels are utilized for items.

Requirements:

  • Secondary School (Grade 12) diploma.
  • Experience handling cash if applying for cashier positions an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to provide speedy, efficient, courteous, and tactful service.
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stock a variety of merchandise.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge in kitchen sanitation and safety standards an asset.

Working Conditions:

Positions are scheduled up to 24 hours a week. Some positions require early morning, day time, and evening hours. The location of work is within The Fix, Portable Feast, or Tim Hortons.
