The Counsel will offer comprehensive support to the VP-Chief Counsel for Global Marketing & Media, collaborating with the global Marketing and Consumer Experience teams. This role will spearhead initiatives related to global marketing digital evolution, creative strategies, media operations, production processes, technology advancements, and digital content projects. Additionally, the Counsel will engage with global Marketing, Consumer Experience, Procurement, Mondelez Digital Services (MDS), brand equity teams, and other departments, fostering cross-functional collaboration focused on marketing, media, brand strategies, social media, digital commerce, MarTech, Gen AI, and related areas.
This position also plays a vital role in the Corporate & Legal Affairs Department, particularly through the Center Of Excellence (COE) framework, by developing strategies and providing leadership on global agency agreements and brand initiatives. The emphasis will be on risk management and mitigation, alongside the creation of templates, global policies, and training programs. The Counsel will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and leading global contracts concerning marketing, media, marketing technology, data, Gen AI, digital commerce, and social media.
The Counsel will manage all responsibilities in a manner that safeguards the Company's interests, as well as the integrity, reputation, assets, officers, and employees, ensuring compliance with applicable laws. This role is designed to lead, formulate strategies, and establish global frameworks while supporting worldwide initiatives and promoting consistent standards and processes in legal support.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal counsel, contract support, and strategic leadership to the VP-Chief Counsel for Global Marketing and Media, as well as to global functions related to marketing, media, technology, data, Gen AI, and social media. Collaborate with ISC and Global Marketing and Consumer Experience teams, focusing on Global Marketing and Media Procurement. Engage with MDS on agreements, projects, and Gen AI initiatives. Participate in the Global Marketing & Media COE, delivering services related to marketing, media, technology, data, and social media at global, regional, and business unit levels. Draft, negotiate, and review commercial contracts, policies, and legal documents pertaining to global marketing, media, social media, Gen AI, consumer data, and digital transformation. Manage NDAs, including tri-party agreements for sharing confidential information with external partners. Develop tools and support for executing global projects related to marketing, media, licensing, technology, data, Gen AI, and global brand programs, focusing on risk management and best practices. Curate and distribute a monthly newsletter for the Global Marketing Legal Community of Practice. Organize and manage team information and materials in connection with CLA Knowledge Management and global Marketing Knowledge Management tools. Resolve disputes with commercial partners related to marketing and media, taking on leadership and project management responsibilities. Identify legal training needs, recommend process improvements, and develop and deliver training in areas such as global marketing, media, technology, data, Gen AI, and social media. Keep the Global Team and stakeholders informed of significant legal developments and regulatory changes that may impact the Company's operations. Assist in developing strategies for related areas, ensuring global standards and policies are effectively communicated and understood within the Company.Qualifications:
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution with strong academic credentials, and licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction where the company operates. Minimum of 3 years of experience in intellectual property, marketing, and media law. Strong management skills and business acumen, with the ability to make informed decisions that align with business objectives. Excellent research, writing, and leadership skills, with a strategic mindset. High level of professional integrity and ethical standards. Proven ability to communicate effectively with non-legal audiences. Substantial experience in social media, marketing, media, production, and commercial transactions, particularly in preparing and reviewing contracts. Previous experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector is preferred. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing stress and deadlines effectively. Exceptional problem-solving, project management, and time management skills.Business Unit Summary
