Job Title: Labourer, Factory

We are seeking a skilled Labourer, Factory to join our team at Atlas Sign & Awning Company.

Job Summary:

The Labourer, Factory will be responsible for transporting items throughout the plant using powered equipment, as well as manually transporting raw materials, finished products, and equipment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for checking and weighing materials and products, sorting, packing, and packaging materials and products, and assisting machine operators, assemblers, and other workers.

Responsibilities:
  • Transport items throughout the plant using powered equipment
  • Transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the plant manually
  • Check and weigh materials and products
  • Sort, pack, crate, and package materials and products
  • Assist machine operators, assemblers, and other workers
  • Perform other labouring and elemental activities
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas
Requirements:
  • Will train
  • Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports persons with disabilities

Support for Indigenous People:
  • Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people
  • Offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers
  • Develops and maintains relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations
  • Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
  • Facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers
Support for Visible Minorities:
  • Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports members of visible minorities
  • Applies hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities
  • Offers mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees
