About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Hairdresser/Barber to join our team at Extendicare Canada Inc. in providing exceptional grooming services to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality haircuts, shampoos, and shaves to promote cleanliness, good grooming, and a feeling of self-esteem for our residents.

• Advise residents and caregivers on the equipment, products, and supplies necessary for good grooming, such as types of shampoos and frequency of use.

• Teach residents or caregivers alternative methods for grooming, promoting independence and optimal function.

• Review residents' requests for perms or medicated shampoos with the supervisor prior to performing the service.

• Communicate any problems, incidents, or emergency situations related to service delivery to the administrator.

• Document services provided to residents in accordance with company policies and procedures.

• Ensure the safety of residents during service provision and report any concerns to the administrator.

Requirements

• Certificate from a recognized school of hairdressing and current license.

• Previous hairdressing or barber experience preferred.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

• Proof of liability insurance and WSIB coverage.
