Network Systems Administrator

OnX is seeking a skilled Network Admin to join our team in Ottawa. As a Network Admin, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our network infrastructure, including monitoring performance, implementing security protocols, and providing technical support to users.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor network performance and security using tools like Cisco Prime, DNA, and similar software.
- Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Maintain and update network configurations, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Provide technical support to users experiencing network issues, resolving connectivity problems and ensuring smooth operation of network services.
- Regularly apply patches and updates to network devices to ensure the network is secure and up-to-date.
- Technical expertise in LAN/WAN, routers, switches, APs, load balancers, and other network devices.
- Experience with Cisco technology, load balancers, and wireless controllers.
- Knowledge of security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Experience with ticketing services, such as ServiceNow.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
This is a part-time, 3-day per week contract with the possibility of extension to 6 months or more. The location is Ottawa, with the possibility of working on-site at the Canadian Forces Base area.
