Responsibilities
Inspectors are tasked with performing regular inspections, testing, servicing, and preventive maintenance on electrical, sprinkler, or suppression life safety product lines, as well as comparable products from other manufacturers.

Key Activities

  • Engage with low-voltage wiring and related devices for the operation of low-voltage systems.
  • Complete service acknowledgments with accurate coding through communication devices such as laptops and/or hard copies.
  • Adhere to a well-structured inspection schedule.
  • Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documentation via laptop.
  • Perform minor repairs and programming adjustments on inspected systems.
  • Provide technical training to junior inspectors and trainees.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned inspections.
  • Undertake additional duties as required.

Qualifications
Required

  • CFAA Certification.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Over 5 years of documented inspection or service experience in fire alarm systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, program schematics, and operational/product manuals.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot systems and perform necessary repairs.
  • Capability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in various positions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, as well as in crawl spaces and above ceilings.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, to meet customer needs.
  • Commitment to adhere to and implement safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any necessary licenses as mandated by national, provincial, and local regulations.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills, a positive attitude, and a quick learning ability.

Preferred

  • Experience with special hazards.
  • Background in service.
  • Familiarity with sprinklers, fire pumps, and suppression systems.
