Job Title: Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager

The Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager is a critical role at 407 ETR, responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) that meets the requirements of the IHSA CORTM and ISO 14001 standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the corporate Wellness Program to promote a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Lead and supervise the Advisor, Health & Safety, and oversee HSEW-related committees, including the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) and the Wellness Committee.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure regulatory compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage and supervise HSEW contractors, including biodiversity and tree planting services, audiometric testing, and flu clinics.
  • Implement the corporate Management of Change (MoC) program to ensure seamless transitions and minimize risks.
  • Lead incident investigations and assist with WSIB Claims Management to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Generate regular reports and scorecards to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Certification in one or more of the following: IHSA CORTM, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or ISO 9001.
