Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Truck Driver to join our team at Discount Trucking & Construction Ltd. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining our fleet of vehicles, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Operations: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety protocols.
  • Logistics and Coordination: Arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations to optimize delivery routes and schedules.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of vehicles, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
  • Cargo Handling: Load and unload goods, and ensure the safety and security of cargo during transportation.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: AZ class license, Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks), and a valid driver's license.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a truck driver, with a strong understanding of logistics and transportation operations.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Work Environment: The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced transportation environment, with regular exposure to varying weather conditions and physical demands.
  • Physical Demands: The position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull heavy loads, as well as stand for long periods of time.
