About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Installer to join our team at Budget Renovations Limited. As a key member of our flooring installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all flooring installations are completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Installation Tasks
    • Inspect and measure surfaces to be covered to determine the required materials and labor.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
  • Installation Tasks
    • Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding to ensure a smooth and even surface.
    • Measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings, including vinyl and hardwood.
    • Prepare and install hardwood floors, including sanding and finishing.
    • Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings to ensure a safe and durable finish.
    • Conduct moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations to ensure a successful outcome.
    • Estimate costs and materials required for each installation.
    • Prepare floors for installations by removing existing floor coverings and contaminants.
    • Install vinyl decking materials to provide a durable and low-maintenance finish.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in floor covering installation.
Working Conditions
  • Permanent full-time position.
  • 30 to 35 hours per week.
  • Work language: English.
