About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child Care Specialist to join our team at Mr. Wechsler. As a key member of our childcare team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch care and education to infants and children in a safe and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Child Care and Education
    • Develop and implement engaging activities and games to promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
    • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
    • Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks, taking into account dietary restrictions and preferences
  • Household Management
    • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, including laundry and ironing
    • Assist with meal preparation and cooking
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Communicate effectively with parents and other caregivers to ensure seamless care and education
    • Collaborate with other team members to achieve common goals and objectives
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in childcare or a related field
  • Skills and Qualities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
    • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children
Work Environment

As a Child Care Specialist with Mr. Wechsler, you will work in a non-smoking environment, with optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note that this is not a condition of employment.

Language and Work Hours

We welcome applications from individuals who are fluent in English or French, and are available to work 40 hours per week.
