About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Church Caretaker at Guru Nanak Niwas Society. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our religious institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to ensure a safe and clean environment for our community.
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse, maintaining a tidy and organized space.
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers regularly to prevent odors and maintain a clean environment.
  • Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to ensure a sparkling clean and well-maintained facility.
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment, ensuring that all issues are addressed promptly and efficiently.
  • Perform safety and security checks to ensure the well-being and safety of our community.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens to maintain a beautiful and welcoming outdoor space.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to ensure safe access to our facility.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster, providing them with support and a welcoming environment.
  • Provide diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination, promoting a fair and inclusive work environment.
