Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Accounting & Finance plays a crucial role in shaping the financial landscape of the company. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including financial reporting, strategic business planning, valuation assessments, and forecasting activities. Collaboration with various finance team members, including the CFO and other departments, is essential.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid model, with 4 days in the office and 1 day remote.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present consolidated financial statements on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Lead the resolution of complex accounting issues.
  • Oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring timely preparation, review, and approval of journal entries.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for both interim and year-end audits.
  • Analyze and report on key operational metrics, linking financial trends and variances.
  • Assist the tax team with compliance on provincial and federal tax filings.
  • Establish and maintain financial controls and procedures, ensuring adherence to IFRS policies.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for business process enhancements.
  • Support senior management with analyses and reports for informed decision-making.
  • Contribute to forecasting and business planning initiatives.
  • Engage in the annual valuation process, reviewing models and preparing management presentations.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses and presentations related to financial and operational performance.
Qualifications:
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA preferred) with a strong understanding of IFRS.
  • 7-10 years of experience in accounting, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in advisory or corporate finance is a plus.
  • Proficient in time management and meeting deadlines.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, including modeling and complex functions.
  • Strong capabilities in PowerPoint for creating presentations.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality materials.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-driven and proactive in managing workloads and professional growth.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is advantageous.
