As a vital contributor to our engineering team, you will engage in the design and ongoing enhancement of cutting-edge agricultural product innovations tailored for the Ag/Heavy Duty Off-Road machinery sector. Your role will involve collaboration with a diverse group of engineers, technologists, and specialists, ensuring a comprehensive approach to product development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As part of your role, you will be involved in various project activities, including but not limited to:

  • Creating software code, models, and strategies for sensory data and machine learning applications
  • Drafting technical specifications and documentation
  • Participating in code evaluations and managing code repositories across multiple projects utilizing Git version control
  • Assisting in the formulation and execution of validation strategies (unit testing, HIL, SIL, DVT)
  • Contributing to the development of risk assessments (DFMEA)
  • Engaging in continuous learning regarding MacDon products and industry competitors
  • Performing additional tasks as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree from an accredited Engineering or Technology program
  • Proficiency in Python or C++ programming languages
  • Understanding of machine learning methodologies and algorithms, particularly in image processing
  • Experience in the machine learning lifecycle, including data collection, preprocessing, training, and deployment of models
  • Familiarity with the CAN protocol J1939

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2 years of experience in machine learning or relevant post-graduate research
  • Experience with embedded systems, including programming and integration with sensors
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and communication principles
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Familiarity with model-based software design using MATLAB/Simulink
  • Interest in the automation and control of mechanical systems
  • Understanding of agricultural machinery and farming practices
