Position Overview

Pathfind is in search of a dedicated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. This full-time, permanent role is essential for our construction clientele, focusing on delivering precise financial insights and project evaluations. The successful applicant will report directly to the Controller and will play a crucial role in financial management and analysis.

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate

  • A Bachelor of Commerce degree with a specialization in Accounting or equivalent relevant experience.
  • CPA designation or progress towards obtaining one is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in an accounting capacity, with supervisory experience being advantageous.
  • At least 3 years of expertise in project accounting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial, operational, and cost reporting and analysis.
  • Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, and business process optimization.
  • Strong command of accounting software, along with advanced skills in MS Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Maestro software is a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain productive relationships with vendors, agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Effective team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate and timely financial and operational reports.
  • Reconcile completed projects, ensuring cost and revenue accuracy.
  • Prepare, analyze, and report on project financial data related to revenues and costs.
  • Provide project status updates and analytical insights to Project Managers and Controllers.
  • Manage month-end processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Conduct monthly intercompany reconciliations.
  • Transform data into actionable business analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in the year-end audit process.
  • Oversee monthly project accounting details and reporting.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning initiatives.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of internal systems and controls to improve financial processes.
  • Help document and implement internal controls to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and develop direct and indirect reports through ongoing coaching.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
