Job Title: Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Yellowhead Community Services Society.

About the Role

This permanent position involves working with clients in a community agency setting, providing support and services to individuals and families in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Appraise clients' needs and eligibility for specific services
  • Conduct social research and develop, coordinate, and implement the delivery of specific services within the community
  • Liaise with other social services agencies and healthcare providers involved with clients
  • Assist clients with special needs and accompany them to appointments and social outings
  • Manage knowledge and stay up-to-date with best practices in the field
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years
  • Experience in the field is an asset
  • Required certifications include Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR, Mental Health First Aid, Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviour, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
Work Environment

This role involves working in a community agency setting, with a focus on child welfare, personal and social adjustment, and health. The work site environment includes working with at-risk youth, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), and other related areas.
