Job Title: Occasional Designated Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a qualified Occasional Designated Early Childhood Educator to join our dynamic team at Sudbury Catholic District School Board.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to plan and implement the Early Learning Program in a Catholic classroom setting. This role requires a strong understanding of child development and the ability to support student growth in a positive and faith-filled environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to design and implement early learning programs that support cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and faith development.
  • Work with the classroom team to create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that reflects the Sudbury Catholic District School Board's mission, vision, and values.
  • Support the classroom teacher in planning student learning opportunities that are rooted in an inquiry stance and play-based environment.
  • Provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with exceptionalities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a community college diploma in Early Childhood Education.
  • Current valid registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
  • Strong knowledge of child development and planning and implementing early learning programs.
  • Basic knowledge of the Ministry of Education Kindergarten Program, Catholic faith development, and related legislation is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of related experience in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Current First Aid certification and CPR certification is an asset.
  • Understanding of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles is an asset.
