Your Role:

As a pivotal member of the HR Business Support Services team, you will report directly to the Manager and act as a crucial link between the Human Resource Department, HR Shared Services, and IT. This position focuses on providing comprehensive system support and analysis to optimize technology solutions that cater to the requirements of HR Shared Services and all users of Alberta Health Services' human resource management systems, including PeopleSoft, Recruitment Management System, and eRecords.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Define and evaluate the technical and functional requirements of applications, leveraging your hands-on experience as a PeopleSoft Business Analyst, particularly in HR administration and Manager/Employee Self Service.
  2. Analyze the implications on other modules such as Position Management, Benefits Administration, Payroll, Pension, Payroll Accounting, Self Service, and Time and Labor.
  3. Develop necessary queries and reports to fulfill the outlined requirements.
  4. Oversee projects from design through to implementation, managing multiple system enhancements and configuration requests.
  5. Identify, track, and communicate project-related issues, scope changes, variances, and contingencies throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Assist various business users and management in recognizing and analyzing options, recommending enhancements to business processes.
  7. Prepare, develop, and implement detailed functional system design specifications, test plans, and user documentation ensuring functional and technical accuracy.
  8. Troubleshoot potential system issues and provide insights into proposals and system solutions across various PeopleSoft modules.

Required Qualifications:

Proven experience in:

  • Conducting business requirements analysis.
  • Applying analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Developing impact analyses and functional strategies.
  • Creating test strategies and executing test phases.
  • Assessing organizational and application readiness for implementation.

Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Publisher, Word, and Visio is essential. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are necessary to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels. Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to work collaboratively in a team or independently are also required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with project upgrades and working within a large, complex, and unionized HR/Payroll processing environment is advantageous.
