About the Opportunity

Cenovus Energy is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented student to join our Atlantic Region Subsurface Developments Teams in St. John's. As a geology or geophysics student, you will have the opportunity to work alongside industry-leading professionals on diverse and challenging projects.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting a multi-disciplinary team comprised of geologists, geophysicists, and simulation engineers. Your tasks will include evaluating exploration prospects, curating summaries of offshore gas resources, and other scopes that may become priority work as business needs evolve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate exploration prospects using available seismic and regional well data
  • Curate summaries of known, unknown, and potential offshore gas resources
  • Support a multi-disciplinary team on various projects
Requirements
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term
  • Available to begin work in May 2025
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Strong technical skills, including MS Excel and digital databases
  • Critical thinker and ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Innovative and able to encourage new ways of looking at problems, processes, or solutions
Education
  • Must be enrolled in a Geology or Geophysics Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term
  • Returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term
