About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at Shoppers Drug Mart. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessments: Conduct thorough patient assessments to prescribe new medications or extend existing medications as needed.
  • Travel Health Consultations: Provide expert advice on travel health and vaccinations to patients.
  • Chronic Disease Management: Manage chronic diseases through medication reviews and provide patients with personalized care plans.
  • Administration of Medications: Administer medications by injection and provide patients with education on proper use.
  • Point of Care Screening: Conduct point of care screening and swabs as needed.
  • Lab Requisitions and Results: Provide lab requisitions and interpret lab results to inform patient care.
  • Circles of Care: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to establish circles of care for patients.
  • Medication Counselling: Provide patients with education on prescription medication use and answer questions.
  • Dispensary and Pharmacy Workflow: Assist with dispensary and pharmacy workflow activities as needed.
Requirements
  • Alberta Pharmacist License: Must hold a valid Alberta pharmacist license.
  • Additional Prescribing Authorization: Must have Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA) certification or be currently pursuing certification.
  • Injection Certification: Must have injection certification.
  • Additional Accreditations: Additional accreditations such as CDE, CRE CTH, etc. are an asset.
  • HealthWATCH Software: Knowledge of HealthWATCH pharmacy software is an asset.
  • Customer Relations: Must have superior customer relations skills and a strong sense of professionalism.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Must have strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to formulate and execute action plans.
