Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Asset Management Engineer. This position is crucial for maintaining the built assets of the CWGC within the designated Area, ensuring they remain in excellent condition. The successful candidate will develop and manage a comprehensive multi-year capital investment plan, which includes:

  • Conducting inspections and prioritizing necessary work
  • Overseeing procurement and allocation of tasks
  • Supervising renewal projects executed by others
  • Updating relevant data systems
  • Making informed recommendations for future repairs and studies

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee the Area's multi-year capital program.
  • Prepare and coordinate projects of varying scope and complexity for implementation.
  • Lead all renewal projects, including studies, construction, and rehabilitation efforts.
  • Ensure thorough audits of all Pacific facilities and maintain accurate Asset Planner data.
  • Maintain the integrity of asset hierarchy and facility data in operational systems.
  • Coordinate all Area entries and reporting through the Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Develop and uphold technical specifications for renewal and maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct periodic audits of Pacific buildings.
  • Identify and manage financial risks in line with CWGC policies.

Leadership and Management

The Asset Management Engineer will also:

  • Lead and inspire direct reports, managing daily tasks including performance evaluations and professional development.
  • Set and delegate performance objectives and standards for staff.
  • Identify staff development needs and ensure appropriate training and coaching.
  • Provide leadership to external contractors and stakeholders, as well as internal team members.
  • Recognize business risks and training requirements to ensure successful program delivery.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A post-secondary degree in Engineering (preferably Civil), Operations Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in asset management, demonstrating progressive responsibility.
  • Proven experience in contracting, project management, risk management, and health and safety.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; bilingualism in French is advantageous.
  • Senior management experience in a construction or asset management sector.
  • Experience in health and safety management within the workplace.
  • The ability to collaborate with diverse individuals across various time zones and cultures.
