About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Analyst to join our team at Acuity Technology Solutions Inc. as a key member of our IT department. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our company's databases to ensure efficient data management and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement within our IT infrastructure, providing valuable insights to inform business decisions.
  • Database Development and Maintenance: Develop and maintain computer databases, ensuring data accuracy, security, and integrity.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document customers' requirements for projects, as well as reporting needs, queries, logic, results, and recommendations to other information systems professionals.
  • Database Management: Provide advice to other informatics professionals regarding database management tools, setup the IT infrastructure to allow applications to access databases, and test data models and database management systems.
  • Data Administration: Develop and implement data administration policy, standards, and models, research and document data requirements, data collection, and administration policy, and data access rules.
  • Network Access and Data Backup: Develop policies and procedures for network access and usage, as well as for the backup and recovery of data.
  • Scripting and Development: Write scripts related to stored procedures and triggers.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Work Setting: Computer hardware or software retailer/wholesaler, telecommunications industry, software company, information technology (IT) service provider, or private sector.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 30 hours per week.
