Job Summary

Mission Veterinary Hospital (1992) Ltd. is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our veterinarians in delivering exceptional medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Animal Handling and Care
    • Safely handle and restrain animals undergoing treatment and surgery, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
    • Provide exceptional care and attention to animals, including feeding, grooming, and administering medications as directed by veterinarians.
  • Assisting Veterinarians
    • Assist veterinarians before, during, and after surgery, ensuring a smooth and efficient procedure.
    • Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under the direction of veterinarians, maintaining accurate records and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Client Communication
    • Provide clear and concise information to clients regarding animal health care, treatment options, and post-operative care.
    • Counsel clients on animal behavior, nutrition, and health, promoting a positive and supportive relationship between clients and our hospital.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient treatments, medications, and test results.
    • Assist with laboratory research and testing, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care and efficient hospital operations.
    • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with industry developments and best practices.
    Requirements
    • College/CEGEP education in a related field.
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a veterinary setting.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Fluency in English.
