The primary role of the Vehicle Appearance Specialist is to deliver an outstanding customer experience through meticulous vehicle detailing. This ensures that every client has a positive first impression upon receiving their vehicle. Responsibilities include pre-washing vehicles before they enter production and thoroughly cleaning and detailing all assigned vehicles prior to customer delivery. The specialist also contributes to maintaining a clean repair facility while collaborating with team members to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a welcoming atmosphere when interacting with clients.
- Hand wash and clean vehicle exteriors using brushes and equipment.
- Polish and clean windshields, windows, lights, mats, and the vehicle body.
- Protect vehicle exteriors by buffing, polishing, and applying wax.
- Vacuum, shampoo, and freshen up vehicle interiors, including stain removal as necessary.
- Inspect vehicle body and refinishing work for any deficiencies affecting delivery quality; report to the production supervisor as needed.
- Ensure all tasks listed in the Repair Orders (RO) are completed to meet quality standards.
- Check in new vehicles for pre-wash and document any prior damages.
- Assess and replenish fluids such as windshield washer fluid, oil, and antifreeze.
- Conduct basic maintenance checks on various vehicle components.
- Maintain service quality by adhering to established quality standards and conducting final inspections.
- Keep the workspace clean by regularly sweeping and emptying garbage containers.
- Ensure the parking lot is organized and clean at all times.
- Power wash the shop floor as required to maintain cleanliness.
- Organize vehicles in the parking lot daily, including managing keys and signage.
- May be tasked with managing the inventory of cleaning supplies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
- Maintain a tidy production area throughout the workday and ensure a thorough clean-up at the end of the day.
- Stay updated with new technical information and techniques through formal training sessions.
- Work according to the daily production schedule as directed by the Production Supervisor.
- Notify the production supervisor of any collision repair issues that may affect the production process.
- Complete the Quality Control (QC) Checklist before transferring vehicles to the next department.
- Keep track of the status of assigned vehicles and assist in maintaining on-time delivery schedules.
- Consistently use required safety equipment and follow proper procedures in compliance with health and safety guidelines.
- Adhere to hazardous waste disposal requirements.
- Follow vendor procedures for maintaining tools and equipment.
- Support team members as needed.
- Participate in monthly health and safety meetings and training sessions as required.
- Uphold the company's key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales and customer satisfaction.
- Embrace the core values of honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Follow company policies and procedures as per established practices.
- Actively engage in daily production meetings with management as required.
- Demonstrate commitment to the company's promises through consistent actions and behaviors.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic.
- Ability to efficiently use vendor materials and supplies.
- Commitment to ongoing learning through industry-related training.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Physical capability to bend, crouch, reach, and lift materials over 50 lbs.
- Valid G class driver's license.
- Must provide personal tools.
