Job Title: Early Childhood Educator Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team at Wild Coast Daycare Ltd. As an Early Childhood Educator Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily activities and programs of our early childhood educators.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Early Childhood Educators: Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Lead Activities: Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Record Keeping: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records.
  • Encourage Creativity: Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Child Development: Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Environment Maintenance: Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Collaboration: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Health and Safety: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Requirements:
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience: Experience is an asset.
Work Environment:
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
