Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Héroux-Devtek. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for conducting reviews and creating production planning for products, identifying and mitigating risk in the product manufacturing process flow, and optimizing the efficiency of production.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct reviews and create production planning for products by reviewing the required specifications, documented best manufacturing practices, and co-orienting with key personnel to determine the most effective and efficient methods of production.
  2. Initiate APQP & PFMEA activities to identify and mitigate risk in the product manufacturing process flow.
  3. Conduct time study activities to identify and eliminate any inefficiencies in the manufacturing activities.
  4. Create and update manufacturing drawings that define the required dimensions and GD&T.
  5. Create Operation Detail Sheets (ODS) required for optimized efficiency, repeatability, and quality of work performed by the production floor.
  6. Create 3D models of assemblies, tooling, and fixtures using SolidWorks or Catia V5.
  7. Utilize a strong sense of ingenuity to accomplish tooling design for manufacturing within the brazing/bonding process.
  8. Foresee and identify potential production and manufacturing problems in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Interact with the production floor personnel to identify improvement initiatives and optimize the efficiency of production.
  10. Satisfy customer requirements and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements while meeting the requirements of the AS0D standard.
Additional Job Duties:
  1. 5-S and cleaning/maintaining of work area cleanliness.
  2. Adherence to all company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
  3. Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Educational Background Required:

Degree or Diploma in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
Highly computer literate.

Work Experience Required:
  1. Strong solid modelling skills in SolidWorks and/or Catia V5.
  2. Sound knowledge of aerospace manufacturing techniques and methods (knowledge of NADCAP considered an asset).
  3. Sound knowledge of APQP & PFMEA processes.
  4. Experience with MRP software (Baan, SAP, MES, Oracle) for production and material planning is a strong asset.
  5. Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement as related to aerospace industry production.
  6. Knowledge/experience with heat treatment and brazing is considered a strong asset.
