Accounting Officer (Bilingual English & Mandarin)

First Commercial Bank, Toronto Branch

Position Overview:
This is a full-time opportunity within our esteemed organization.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including a one-hour lunch break. We are looking for a diligent, detail-oriented, and proactive team member to join our ranks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct verification of general ledger activities and maintain daily balance sheets.
  • Organize and bind daily vouchers.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for Head Office on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Generate regulatory reports on a monthly, quarterly, and semiannual basis (e.g., OSFI, StatsCan, etc.).
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and tax returns.
  • Develop budgets and perform performance and income tax estimations.
  • Reconcile daily accounting transactions and manage other accounting-related tasks.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with various departments within the Bank.
  • Support the loan department in conducting financial analyses and risk assessments as necessary.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting.
  • A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with familiarity in banking operations considered an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with strong analytical skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks with patience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work independently under time constraints while ensuring accuracy.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English and Mandarin.
