Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Culinary Specialist to join our team at Lake House Restaurant. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and presentation of our dishes, while also managing kitchen operations effectively.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a culinary program lasting 3 months to less than 1 year, or equivalent experience.
Work Environment

The position is based in a vibrant restaurant setting, where teamwork and creativity are key to delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess food portion sizes and calculate associated costs.
  • Design menus and forecast food requirements for their execution.
  • Order food and kitchen supplies as needed.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals and individual dishes.
  • Accommodate customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions.
  • Prepare specialized meals for patients as directed by a dietitian or head chef.
  • Conduct inspections of kitchens and food service areas to ensure compliance with health standards.
  • Train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe food handling practices.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and kitchen equipment.
  • Oversee kitchen staff and assist in their development.
