Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Scheduler to join their Home Support team in North Vancouver, BC. As a Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing the schedules of Community Care Assistants (CCAs) to ensure seamless delivery of home support services to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and adjust CCAs' schedules in advance to meet client referrals, care plans, and collective agreements.
- Respond to inquiries related to scheduling of Home Support Services, providing accurate and timely information to clients and staff.
- Utilize online systems and documentation to process employee transactions, including employment requisitions, transfers, vacation requests, leaves of absence, and terminations.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping records for staff and support clients and employees in a dynamic and high-paced call center environment.
- Support the team in achieving operational goals and objectives, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Grade 12, plus two years' recent related experience coordinating, preparing, and adjusting home support schedules or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience in customer service and/or a high-paced call center environment is an asset.
- Ability to keyboard 6500 keystrokes per hour.
- Working knowledge of applicable collective agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, multitask, and work independently with minimal direction.
- Ability to schedule CCAs for client visits.
- Ability to take initiative, anticipate potential problems/conflicts, and take appropriate action.
- Ability to establish/maintain satisfactory work relationships with staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Proficiency in the application of software programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated skill in respectful, diplomatic, and tactful communication.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm when communicating in difficult situations.
