We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Recreation Programmer to join our team at Shannex Incorporated. As a Recreation Programmer, you will play a vital role in enhancing the overall wellness and quality of life for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with residents and families to assess their engagement in meaningful activities and develop strategies to enhance their overall wellness.
- Develop, analyze, and review resident-directed individualized and community-wide programs to ensure they meet the residents' needs and expectations.
- Foster partnerships with local businesses and community groups to facilitate program development and implementation.
- Evaluate programming to ensure it is meeting the residents' needs and expectations, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with the Recreation team to develop a comprehensive plan for full-scope wellness programming for all service lines.
- Oversee the orientation process for new residents to the recreation department, services offered, and activities/amenities available to them.
- Oversee Recreation services for special functions, ensuring organization, cost efficiency, and appropriate staffing.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Recreation or a related discipline.
- Passion for creative arts, such as music therapy, art therapy, or artistic expression.
- Energetic and compassionate individual with experience in programming and planning for seniors in a recreational environment.
- Strong communication and computer skills.
- Class G Driver's License is an asset.
- Proof of current, valid CPR and First Aid Certification, as well as a Safe Food Handler's Course, is required.
- Ability to work flexible hours and shifts, including some weekends and evenings.
