We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at the City of Calgary. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the City's financial management and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Develop and maintain accurate and timely financial reports, including financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Tangible Capital Assets (TCA) Management: Identify, document, and evaluate business processes, controls, and financial reporting processes related to TCA.
- Financial Control and Compliance: Identify financial control gaps and issues, and recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Reporting and Analysis: Develop and maintain financial reports, including TCA-related reports, and provide end-user support using Business Intelligence Tools.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work with business units to integrate TCA policies and processes into their business processes, and provide training and support as needed.
- Education and Experience: A degree in a related field, such as Accounting or Business Administration, plus at least 5 years of senior financial accounting experience, or a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation plus at least 3 years of senior financial accounting experience.
- Skills and Knowledge: Strong financial, analytical, and computer skills, effective communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Assets: Experience with PeopleSoft Financial and Supply Chain Management (FSCM), large-scale finance projects, and financial reporting.
