Construction Labourer

Tsawout First Nation is seeking a skilled Construction Labourer to join our Housing Department team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing properties within our community, ensuring our homes are kept in optimal conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Transportation and Logistics: Transport materials and equipment to and from job sites.
- Site Maintenance: Clean and organize job sites, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
- Support to Trades: Assist other tradespeople as needed, providing support and expertise to ensure successful project completion.
- Task Execution: Perform a variety of light and heavy tasks, including lifting and carrying equipment and materials.
- Skills and Requirements:
- Familiarity with a range of tools and equipment.
- Ability to solve problems, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
- Demonstrated commitment to personal and collective safety.
- Effective communication skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Comfortable working outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
- Owns necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel-toed boots and hard hat.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Construction and Maintenance Supervisor.
- Education: Preferably a high school diploma (Dogwood or BC Adult Graduation Diploma).
- Experience: Prior experience in areas such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, or landscaping is an advantage.
- Driver's License: Must have a valid BC driver's license, dependable vehicle, and clean driving record.
- Criminal Record Check: Mandatory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
