Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

New-Way Trucking Ltd. is seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods across the country.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
  • Operate lighter, special purpose trucks, requiring attention to detail and a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance.
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs, utilizing problem-solving skills to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch, maintaining effective communication with the team.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, ensuring accurate documentation.
Requirements:
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Attention to detail, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Ability to work overtime, with a physically demanding role requiring stamina and endurance.
  • Judgement, organized, and a team player, with a strong work ethic.
  • Will train, with a focus on developing skills and expertise.
