Job Summary

Canada Post is seeking a reliable and organized individual to join our team as a Rural and Suburban Relay Mail Carrier. As a Relay Mail Carrier, you will be responsible for delivering mail and packages to various communities in a safe and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver mail and packages to customers in a safe and timely manner
  • Operate a postal vehicle and navigate through various road conditions
  • Interact with customers in a positive and courteous manner
  • Sort, collect, and distribute mail and packages in a secure and efficient manner
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of local infrastructure, including roads, customers, and delivery receptacles
  • Treat various postal products and services, including change of address, damaged mail, and bills
  • Wear Canada Post identification and ensure its visibility while delivering and collecting mail from customers
  • Lift and transport articles up to 50 pounds
  • Have experience in deliveries and using a vehicle in various weather and road conditions

Requirements

  • Have a safe driving record
  • Hold a valid provincial permanent driver's license
  • Have a minimum of 100 cubic feet of cargo space
  • Have a metal roof and an additional power outlet to install a Canada Post panel and a warning light
  • Have a fifth door or hatch to allow for the loading of oversized and bulky items (preferably)
  • Provide and maintain the required automobile liability insurance
  • Notify your insurance company of the use of your vehicle for Canada Post employment
