About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior BAS Technician to join our growing Ottawa BAS team. As a key member of our project team, you will work closely with our BAS Project Manager to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering BAS solutions to our customer base within the Construction/Operation Department.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure successful site commissioning, point-to-point verifications, troubleshooting, and startups of BAS, HVAC equipment, and lighting controls systems.
  • Contribute to project and service group documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Ainsworth's Safe Work and H&S Policies, and demonstrate a commitment to a safe working environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with HVAC and DDC fundamentals, as well as Schneider Electric BAS product portfolio, and demonstrate a working knowledge of BAS networking and system integration.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a BAS technician role.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to be insured by Ainsworth.
  • Pass security screening as required by Ainsworth's Government clients, and/or be bondable. Reliability clearance is an asset.
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral. Fluency in French is a definite asset.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specs, as well as product documentation.
  • Graduate of a post-secondary technical or engineering program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Visio or scripted programming language.
  • Ability to perform medium physical duties, including standing for long periods, climbing ladders, and working from heights (with fall arrest protection provided).
  • Some travel may be requested from time to time, with reimbursement for expenses including mileage for driving.
