Job Summary

Fort McKay Group of Companies LP is seeking a highly skilled Safety Advisor to join our team at the Kearl Oil Sands site. As a key member of our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe working environment for our employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Field Tours and Inspections: Conduct regular field tours and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Investigate Incidents and Near Misses: Investigate incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop and Implement Safety Procedures: Develop and implement safety procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Provide Training and Support: Provide training and support to employees and contractors on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Monitor and Report Safety Metrics: Monitor and report safety metrics to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a safety-related role.
  • Certifications: Valid ACSA auditor certificate and CSTS & OSSA/CSO/BSO training required.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees and contractors at all levels.
