Canadian Blood Services is seeking a highly skilled Analyst - Strategic Alliances to join our dynamic Strategic Alliances team in our Collections division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct high-quality research and policy analysis on various strategic issues, including evaluating options for action and developing recommendations for senior management.
  • Create detailed knowledge products that integrate top-down and bottom-up perspectives, providing written documentation to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Monitor the environment to anticipate, analyze, and evaluate trends, emerging issues, and events that may influence Canadian Blood Services' strategic direction.
  • Support the success of multiple cross-organizational working groups, ensuring productive sessions and leading the implementation of actions from these groups, collaborating with internal stakeholders for collective success.
  • Employ analytical expertise to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the strategic alliance's current health, monitoring key performance indicators and conducting detailed collections network scans to identify critical thresholds and develop appropriate responses and mitigation strategies.
  • Utilize proficiency in data analysis to enhance strategic and tactical decision-making by leveraging internal and external data sources, developing insights that incorporate diverse perspectives and long-term goals, and synthesizing this information into well-documented briefing notes and decision documents.
  • Apply project management skills to manage the annual and quarterly business reviews, including scheduling, agenda setting, content creation, and collaboration on the supplier scorecard, while overseeing the governance of a long-term collaboration agreement.
  • Exercise attention to detail to monitor and manage contractual deliverables, reporting requirements, and milestone dates, ensuring they are met on time and adhere to the highest quality standards.
  • Leverage environmental scanning abilities to assess political, economic, social, technological, and legal/regulatory developments relevant to Canadian Blood Services, allowing for informed decision-making.
  • Use quality assurance skills to develop and review key briefing materials throughout the developmental lifecycle, ensuring they are consistent, aligned with objectives, and reflective of the current environmental landscape.
  • Draw upon research and communication skills to produce analytical and briefing materials from a variety of sources—such as academic research and stakeholder input—ensuring they are well-researched, clearly presented, and timely.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized educational institution, preferably Business Administration, Economics, other social sciences, Health or Public Administration. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in relevant positions and disciplines.
  • Strong background in analysis, including an ability to source data from all sources, primary and secondary, including the internet.
  • Significant research and writing experience.
  • Ability to undertake effective analysis and generate realistic options and recommendations, as well as the ability to conceptualize and analyze complex issues.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, in addition to the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proactive working style, action-oriented approach. A can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in as required.
  • Ability to anticipate and follow through on projects with minimal supervision.

Work Environment

This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at a Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/2 days of the week.

You will work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day.

This role may require travel on a quarterly basis or as needed for in-person meetings and visits to donor collection sites.
