About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Technician to join our team at Williams Engineering Canada. As an Electrical Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting our Project Managers and Engineers in delivering high-quality projects to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to provide technical support and assistance on various projects.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external project partners, including consultants and contractors.
  • Maintain a working relationship with other team members and contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Participate in discussions with clients as required and provide exceptional customer service.
  • May participate in basic field inspections and technical reports.
  • Store and retrieve documents appropriately on the Williams Engineering network.
  • Coordinate data and information collected in useful form for Project Managers.
  • Prepare electrical drawings using AutoCAD or Revit MEP, including layout, title blocks, Xrefs, line types, etc.
  • Plot and compile drawings for technical reviews and submissions to clients.
  • Complete drawing revisions from Engineer or Senior Technologist's review and mark ups.
  • Utilize existing and develop new standard frequently used design details.
  • Coordinate drawings with other service lines.
  • May conduct site inspections and write reports under supervision.
  • Perpetuate, clarify, and embody Williams Engineering's Purpose and Core Values.
  • Adhere to company policies and guidelines, as well as company and client safety policies and practices.
  • Have the ability to apply for a Federal security clearance in order to work on institutional projects as required.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a recognized technical program or have a minimum of 2 years drafting experience.
  • May be working towards a C.E.T. or AScT designation.

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen well, respect diversity of opinions, and communicate clearly and succinctly.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple projects, performing a variety of tasks, and meeting required deadlines.
  • Ability to represent the company to staff, clients, and community by ensuring the best image is presented.
  • Application knowledge of Williams Engineering systems and programs, including MS Office 365, MS Teams, SharePoint, Deltek Vision, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, AGI 32 Software.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit MEP, AGI 32 Software.
  • Understanding of provincial and national codes and standards, including the Canadian Electrical Code, Building Codes, and Fire Alarm Codes (NFPA).
  • Ability to write basic reports.
  • Ability to have basic client service skills, including being credible, attentive, reliable, responsive, and empathetic.
  • Ability to understand client expectations and exceed them.
  • Ability to communicate fully and clearly.
  • Fundamental understanding of budgets.
  • Ability to relate 2-dimensional drawings to 3-dimensional spaces.
