Position Overview

The Director of Scholarship and Innovation is responsible for promoting scholarship, evidence-informed practices, and transformative initiatives throughout the UHN organization. This role involves enhancing capabilities at individual, unit, and organizational levels. The Director will spearhead the development of relevant clinical, policy, and health systems scholarship, alongside evaluation, research, and innovation efforts in collaboration with key change leaders and innovators.

This position will establish best practices in implementation, knowledge translation, program evaluation, and improvement science, working closely with both internal and external partners. The Director will also cultivate a research program aimed at improving the retention of health human resources, elevate scholarship within nursing and health professions, and provide evidence-based leadership to tackle the complex challenges faced by the healthcare system.

Furthermore, this role will advance scholarship within the workforce, aligning with the needs of the health system and the priorities of the Collaborative for Academic Practice (CAP) in accordance with the Nursing Strategic Plan. The Director will work to create a network of scholars and enhance the contributions of health professionals to knowledge generation and application, reinforcing UHN's status as a leading academic health sciences center.

Qualifications

  • PhD completion with relevant research experience
  • Regulated Health Professional in good standing
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical and related experience
  • Eligibility for appointment at UHN Research Institute
