Senior Software Engineer - Identity Threat Protection

Okta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Identity Threat Protection (ITP) engineering team. This is an opportunity to solve critical security problems.

The ideal candidate has experience building, launching, and supporting security products at scale. You will share our passion and great pride in elegant solutions and will join an engineering team that strongly believes in designing for scale, rigorous code reviews, automated testing, and an iterative process to build high-quality enterprise software.

You will own and manage the design, development, delivery, and supportability of cloud-native security products - from concept design to final implementation. You will also collaborate with various roles, including engineering, product management, design, support, and documentation.

Our team is fast, innovative, and flexible, with agile release cycles and individual ownership. Here is an opportunity to work on stimulating security projects and emerging technologies, as well as a chance to work on complex security and ML challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deliver cloud-native security products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Commit to high programming standards
  • Participate in rotations to expeditiously unblock customers

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience building Java-based web applications
  • Good understanding of design patterns, scalability patterns, security engineering, and object-oriented principles
  • Experience working in fast-paced software development teams
  • Strong communication skills
  • B.S. in CS or equivalent

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience building anomaly detection systems or risk systems
  • Experience in cloud security, identity, and/or authentication protocols
  • Experience with one or more UI technologies
