About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our IT team at Stantec Consulting International Ltd. as a Python Developer with expertise in Django.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop well-structured, testable code in accordance with our coding standards.
  • Translate Java code into Python and Django applications.
  • Participate in code reviews, document design, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop software test plans and quality assurance procedures.
  • Maintain existing applications through enhancements and production defect support.
  • Interact with peers, help desk, and management personnel to resolve issues.
Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Development experience with Oracle and MS SQL Server.
  • Full stack development experience in Python and Django.
  • Experience with GIT.
  • Some experience in Agile methodologies and practices.
  • Automated end-to-end test experience is highly valued.
  • Experience with WebLogic/Fusion, EJBs, Java Persistence API, and building web services and API is an asset.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computing Science or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of related work experience.
