Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at South Valley Residence in Valleyview, Alberta. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality care to our residents, working collaboratively with our staff to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide resident-focused care, respecting the individual and dignity of each resident and family member.
  • Assess resident health needs, including vital signs, chief health concerns, and administer medications as needed.
  • Monitor residents with complex medical needs and direct the work of Health Care Aides based on resident and site needs.
  • Document patient care observations and activities according to professional standards and procedures.
  • Thoroughly educate and explain procedures to residents and family members, assisting them in coping with illness.
  • Maintain required records, including specimen, maintenance, daily, weekly, and monthly logs.
  • Practice to their full range of competence within applicable legislation, regulations, bylaws, and employer policies.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement and create a facility environment that protects confidentiality of residents, staff, and activities of the community.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from a recognized LPN program, with experience in gerontology preferred.
  • Current membership in good standing with CLPNA.
  • CPR/BCLS for healthcare provider required.
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, and customer service.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to person-centered care.
  • Ability to problem solve through critical thinking.
  • Enthusiastic attitude and energy to provide excellent care and service on behalf of the company.
