Senior Manager, Tax

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Tax to join our team at RECRUITMENT PARTNERS INC. in Calgary. As a key member of our tax team, you will be responsible for overseeing all tax planning and compliance aspects of our corporate entities and proprietary real estate, music royalty, and self-storage funds.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the annual Canadian and US tax filing requirements and corporate structure tax planning throughout the year.
- Develop and implement tax strategies in both Canada and the US to optimize tax positions and minimize liabilities.
- Provide strategic tax advice on acquisitions, dispositions, and other business transactions.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impact on the corporation.
- Manage the preparation, submission, and review of all required tax filings.
- Prepare and/or review various annual tax returns for limited partnerships, mutual fund trusts, and corporate entities.
- Liaise with external tax accounting firms to ensure timely and accurate tax filings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support overall business objectives and financial planning.
- Support the management of investor relationships, including tax reporting and tax queries.
- Provide support and guidance in risk management and work with the team to reduce exposure to risk.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and CPA designation.
- 5+ years' experience in Canadian tax planning and compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with cross-border US tax planning and compliance is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to diverse audiences.
