About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Food Service Worker to join our team at qathet General Hospital in Powell River. As a Food Service Worker, you will be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to food preparation and service, including portioning and serving meals, washing and peeling vegetables and fruit, and preparing items such as tea, coffee, and toast.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve meals to patients and staff
  • Wash and peel vegetables and fruit
  • Prepare items such as tea, coffee, and toast
  • Wash dishes and utensils
  • Portion desserts and assemble sandwiches and salads
  • Prepare and portion diet items in accordance with nutritional plans
  • Measure and combine food and beverage ingredients
  • Check patient/resident meals/trays to ensure dietary accuracy
  • Strip wagons/trays, wash dishes and pots, clean food wagons, kitchen equipment, fridges, and storage areas
  • Perform related clerical duties

Qualifications
