Position Overview

Steward Helper
Reporting directly to the Chief Steward, the Steward Helper plays a vital role in the seamless operation of our Culinary team, ensuring that every dining experience is memorable. Your contributions will support your colleagues and enhance the preparation of outstanding cuisine.

  • Provide consistently professional, friendly, and proactive service to guests and colleagues alike.
  • Uphold a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all Health & Safety standards and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene policies as outlined in the EHC manual.
  • Accurately complete all EHC temperature records as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all Food & Beverage areas, including staff facilities.
  • Conduct daily cleaning tasks for all back-of-house F&B spaces and equipment.
  • Operate main dishwashers and restock equipment across all Food and Beverage areas.
  • Implement proper recycling and composting practices.
  • Assist the Kitchen team with food service delivery as necessary.
  • Possess a solid understanding of WHMIS.
  • Ensure adherence to sustainability and food waste reduction policies and programs.
  • Foster teamwork between Stewarding and other departments, particularly food and beverage service teams.
  • Exhibit a high level of responsibility and accountability in all tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role within a Food and Beverage environment.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada; the hotel cannot assist with work authorization.
  • Strong ability to work with and motivate a diverse workforce.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen setting.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, outgoing, and a team player.
