About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Portfolio Manager to join our team at MD Financial Management. As a key member of our portfolio management team, you will be responsible for fostering and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring portfolio compliance, and promoting our Private Investment Counsel services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships through regular and comprehensive contact.
  • Ensure all portfolios are compliant with clients' Investment Policy Statements.
  • Network internally to promote and understand the value proposition of our Private Investment Counsel services.
  • Stay current on all financial matters affecting client investment activities.
  • Collaborate with specialists to provide a complete financial, practice, and life program for clients.
  • Understand and apply Scotiabank's risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue efficient operations and ensure adherence to business controls.
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
  • Be responsible for business development, networking, pipeline building, business planning, and closing business.
  • Travel as required.
Requirements
  • Level 1 CFA or Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation with 24 months of relevant investment management experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of qualifying experience, specific to becoming registered as an Associate Advising Representative.
  • College or University degree.
